60 Bed Houshold Model of Care
Located on the site of a former pub, the design for this proposed 60 bed care development on the outskirts of Northampton advocates forming a perimeter block along the northern edge of the site and wrapping around onto the eastern and western edges, thus enclosing a south west facing garden. This is the obvious design solution and maximises the potential of the site.
The intention is to create six ‘households’ of 10 residents: two per floor over three floors. Each grouping of ten bedrooms has access to its own lounge / dayspace and assisted central bathroom.
The back of house servicing is stacked vertically so as to maintain separation from each from each of the main residents’ households.
