SIMON’S ROLE: Simon provides the Cost management and Quantity Surveying service for the team. In addition to ensuring that our Clients' budgets and cash flows are carefully managed, Simon assists in Value Managing any changes that arise during a project to enable the best value solutions to be delivered. Simon also compiles financial reports and liaises direct with project funders. HE GOT HIS START: as a Chartered Builder having achieved MCIOB status 1994. He is a highly experienced and qualified Cost Manager with a wealth of experience gained in both the contracting, consulting and construction management fields. In 2000 Simon set up in business to give clients QS & Commercial Management support in all sectors of the industry culminating in acting as one of the national commercial managers on Jobcentre plus Government roll-out programme from 2003-2010. Simon adopts a pragmatic ‘firm but fair’ commercial approach in order to minimise risk, increase cost certainty and to maximise value. He will always to critically analyse and manage cost and not just report it. Simon has been engaged by clients, main contractors and specialist sub-contractors and consequently has an extensive and comprehensive understanding of the construction and commercial process from ‘both sides of the fence’.
