  • Belfast

    Working with Belfast Central Mission, we have designed this 60 bed care home on a fantastic site overlooking the Irish Sea. Located on the Ards Peninsula, the new care home will provide 20 dementia specialist beds, 20 residential care and 20 nursing beds. The expansive, secure gardens designed by our friends Fisher Tomlin & Bowyer offer opportunities for therapeutic horticulture as well as rest and recuperation.

  • St Elizabeth’s

    St Elizabeth’s is a long established charitable Catholic organisation, that consists of a school, college and residential care home (with nursing) specialising in supporting people with severe epilepsy and other complex health conditions. Northstar have been brought in to develop a series of new accommodation units and to create a strategy to modernise the existing stock over a number of years.

  • Benson

    Northstar have designed this state of the art 60 bed care home in South Oxfordshire to meet a rapidly growing demand for better quality, 21st Century care accommodation in the Thames Valley. The location, adjacent to Benson Marina, will provide a stimulating environment with fantastic views for residents over the River Thames.

  • Halesworth

    Working with Castlemeadow Care, NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney CCG, NorthStar have designed and will project manage the replacement of existing elderly healthcare provision in Halesworth. The new Care Village will provide a care complex including a 64 bed elderly care home, GP consulting and treatment rooms, rehabilitation services, extra care housing and an advice centre for people with life limiting conditions.

  • Mayfields Court

    Having developed the new 64 bed care home at Long Stratton, we have been asked back by Castlemeadow Care to design a scheme of extra care apartments to sit alongside the care home. Following various discussions with the local GP surgery and Norfolk Social Services we have designed this unique apartment building which will provide aspirational accommodation for local elderly residents.

  • Woodgate Park

    Woodgate Park Care Village comprises 49 two-bedroom retirement bungalows, sitting alongside a community hall, a GP surgery and a 98 bed residential / nursing home, 18 miles from the centre of Norwich. The final phase of construction was completed in early 2016.

  • Worthing

    The Priory Nursing Home, which has occupied this site in Worthing since 1951, is no longer fit for purpose and we have been granted planning consent for our plans to demolish the old home and develop a new, 64 bed care home put in its place. The new development will provide the town with upgraded care facilities that have been bespoke-designed to provide care in a modern setting with the latest in care technology and facilities.

  • Glasgow

    This 60 bed care home is proposed for the site of the former Bonnyholm primary School on the outskirts of Glasgow. The demand for respite care in particular in this part of Glasgow is very strong and the home has been designed to be as flexible as possible for the range of complex care needs encountered by our specialist operator partner. Construction work is underway now with completion due by the end of 2017.

  • Gloucester

    This 80 bed care home with 17 studio apartments is located in the centre of Gloucester adjacent to Gloucester park and across the road from the Gloucester Quays Outlet shopping centre. The site lies within the central Conservation Area making the selection of materials and adherence to historic building lines critical. Construction work was completed and the home opened just before Christmas 2016.

  • Norwich

    This is our second major collaboration with award winning Castlemeadow Care. The proposed new Care Home development at the former St John’s Primary School in the centre of historic Norwich, aims to provide a flexible, person-centred care environment and has just been selected as a finalist in the 2017 Pinders Healthcare Design Awards to be held in March 2017.

  • Nunthorpe

    This secluded rural setting provided the perfect opportunity for a grand country house-style residential care home for the affluent private pay market in North Yorkshire, overlooking the North York Moors National Park. The design purposefully references the early 1900’s Arts and Crafts Movement, giving the 48 bed home a sense of style and elegance.

  • Poole

    This 70 bed Care Home with nursing was handed over in October 2010. Reflecting its location in the heart of a leafy residential neighbourhood in Parkstone, Poole, with views out over Sandbanks, this private pay home incorporates high end finishes, including a bar, a cinema, a coffee shop, beauty spa and landscape grounds.

  • Ringwood

    Northstar were brought in when Oakdene Care’s existing home in Dorset was given consent to expand onto the site next door in 2011. The Northstar team set about developing a specialist dementia wing to complement the residential care services offered at the existing home next door. The new design has proved very popular and the home filled within a few short months.

  • Loughton

    This 72 bed care home is being developed for Oakland Primecare. They commissioned Northstar to deliver a high quality, private pay, traditional-style care home reflecting its location in the heart of a leafy residential neighborhood, on the fringes of Epping Forest to the West and Buckhurst Hill to the South in Loughton, Essex. The building was handed over in the summer of 2014

  • Cheltenham

    This 60 bed home in the heart of Cheltenham is unashamedly modern: a 21st Century building with cutting edge, non-intrusive technology to assist in the care of residents with dementia. The building stands in stark contrast to the majority of care accommodation in this part of the world which is being provided from 18th / 19th Century converted premises which are no longer fit for purpose.

  • Bournemouth

    We are working with a consortium of specialists including two consultant psychiatrists to design and deliver a cutting edge dementia care home in Bournemouth. Based on the principles of person-centred care and featuring a unique building design and garden design, we have developed the home in partnership with THRIVE – a charity working in Therapeutic Horticulture.

  • Bedford

    We designed and project managed this ambitious £10m+ project for Bedford Citizens’ Housing Association. It comprises a 72 bed care home, a 'Clubhouse' building comprising 1,000sqm of offices, restaurants, gym, spa, library, cinema and offices with a second phase development of 42 Extra Care apartments. The care home was opened in 2015 and is now full, whilst the final phase of apartments opened in January 2017 and is filling up quickly with new occupants.

  • Long Stratton

    We designed and developed The Mayfields - a specialist dementia nursing care facility – on behalf of our client Castle Meadow Care in 2012. The 60 bed home is adjacent to a doctor’s surgery in Long Stratton, Norfolk. The modern look is designed to reflect the aspirations of the generation now coming into the Mayfields, albeit the design utilizes traditional materials to achieve this look.

  • Wisbech

    This quiet rural setting proved ideal for residents recovering from brain injury and those in need of therapeutic treatment away from the stresses and strains of modern life. We restored and converted a Grade II Listed Coach House (to provide a 7 bed specialist services residential care home) together with a new, stand-alone 16 bed specialist services unit.

  • Stocksfield

    This home was built on an elevated site overlooking the Tyne Valley. Built to cater for an unmet need, this home serves the affluent villages of Northumberland along the Tyne Valley where there was a shortage of good private pay care accommodation. The home is designed to maximize views along the Valley with daylight flooding into all of the main living areas.

  • Newmarket

    This large care complex incorporates a specialist 12 bed annex with 25sqm rooms in addition to a large residential home, unitized to cater for a wide variety of care needs. The whole development comprises 98 bedrooms / studios but was designed as a series of smaller units. The scheme was shortlisted for a Pinder award in 2012.

  • Redcar

    Such was the demand for this 76 bed home that on completion, there was a waiting list of 45 residents lined up ready to come in. The beauty salon, spa and cinema have proved a huge draw for residents as has the extensive, landscaped garden which offers opportunities for residents to get involved in planting up their own areas.
